Join the Vancouver World in Reverse release party Sat Oct 16 2010 at the Vancity Culture Lab at The Cultch
Vancouver literary pop artist and Hazel Motes alumnus kele fleming launches her first solo project in five years—and her first fully-realized effort at fusing her duel backgrounds in music and literature. World in Reverse began as a sonic novel and evolved into a sonic Ulysses, a series of musical vignettes that coalesce into a subtle social commentary. The new music features highly literate lyrics, idiosyncratic compositions, and versatile vocals that can sweep from an angry growl to an ethereal high. This performance is a benefit for the WISH Drop-in Centre Society, which is dedicated to the safety and well-being of women working in the sex trade in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside.
