No Static (2016) (Album liner notes)
While this is a Kele Fleming release, the record is a true collaboration – all songs were co-written with musical genius and co-conspirator, Ron Yamauchi. It’s a mashing of musical styles…Kele’s flowing and open-ended literary pop, with Ron’s notion of short, structured, baroque pop. The album was recorded, mixed and mastered by Brent Cross at The Grizz Studios. Additional recording by Gary Jones and additional mixing by Kele Fleming.
World in Reverse (2010)
Literary pop takes a big leap forward with this sonic Ulysses, a series of vignettes that coalesce into a subtle social commentary. Recorded at Lavaland with the talented Brent Cross, and mixed and mastered by the late Todd Simko.
Songs from the Tinforest (2005)
This dual-media project (CD recording & printed book) weaves together kele’s songwriting, poetry and music. The project features a diverse supporting cast of musicians and artists and producer/engineer Dan Kronemann (Bud Osborne Hundred Block Rock). The songs and poems are very much rooted in the BC landscape, in particular the Vancouver landscape, and are sonic and poetic explorations of the complex forces, desires, and impulses that drive her characters into action.
20th century monologue – Hazel Motes (1995)
5 songs on this album were recorded @ CBC Radio with David Wisdom of Nightlines fame. Darryl Neudorf pulled it all together as engineer and co-producer and the result was a literary pop album that spawned a number of songs that charted on national college radio. The CD recording is not yet available on any streaming platforms, but hazel motes’ demos are available on Bandcamp.
