Will be playing 2 shows in Portland OR next month, one at Mississippi Pizza with Portland band raised by tv and a second at In Other Words Women’s Bookstore. Keen to do the bookstore show. In Other Words is the last surviving non-profit feminist bookstore in the US. The bookstore hosts a wide variety of community events – feminist film nights, transgender discussion groups, yoga classes, stitch ‘n bitch sessions, readings & musical performances – and seems to fill the role of a community centre. As an artist, I find this type of show very satisfying…it’s an afternoon show, folks are there to listen & interact with me, there’s a firm connection to the local community.
