Walk for Reconciliation – photo by kele
Thousands came out in the rain to walk for reconciliation on Saturday; joined with the common goal to move through our shared history and come to grips with the abuse of Indigenous Peoples in Canada. It was a moving finale of the Truth & Reconciliation Commission’s events on the West Coast. I took this shot on the Georgia Viaduct heading west. It captures the flow of people heading east on the Viaduct. It was full of people! It was exhilarating to see so many people there.
I was honoured to share the experience of the walk with friends and co-workers. It was moving to see so many people at the walk and realize they, like me, were there to honour the survivors and make a commitment to a new way forward.
