Hello friends

Over the past 2 years, kenji & I have been writing and recording a new record. You’ll find us playing these new toons from our soon-to-be-completed record in the hub of the Kingsgate Mall at 4pm-ish on Saturday June 7th. This is a free show. There will be a number of other groups performing and a video/film installation.

Local visual artist/filmmaker and musician, Casey Wei, is the Western Front’s Artist in Residence for the month of June and hosting a month of programming at Kingsgate Mall. Casey is programming weekly readings, art performances, a weekly talk show, ‘town hall’ type meetings, a weekly object display/flea market, and music on Thursday and Friday nights (plus the first Saturday for Kingsgate Waste). All of this activity and creativity will be filmed and made into a documentary about the mall, the Vancouver art+music scene, and the Mount Pleasant community/neighborhood as it faces the ongoing conversations/battles of gentrification.
