My new latest single – ‘The Nite the Stars Fell (for Kurt Cobain) Ft Arg Bergmann’ – released on April 5th, 2025
About the song
One year ago on April 5th, I wrote a song in the middle of a medical emergency. That song was ‘The Nite the Stars Fell (For Kurt Cobain)’ (TNTSF) and its out today across all platforms.
I was awake that April 5th night realizing there was something very wrong and that I needed to go to the hospital. It was the 30th anniversary of Kurt Cobain’s death and, that night, I came very close to death myself. I wrote most of the song while lying on a hospital gurney waiting for a battery of medical tests. As I was lying there, I initially had no idea why the words of this new song were focused on Kurt Cobain’s writing and Nirvana’s songs. Later, I realized that it was the anniversary of Kurt’s death. Some benevolent angels had other plans for me that night, and I feel Kurt was among them.
Canada’s punk poet laureate, Art Bergmann, joins me on vocals in this song. I’m a huge fan of Art’s music and voice and am so honoured he joined me on the song.
A year later, I’m getting my strength and health back and so happy I’m able to share the finished song with you!
