Album Release Day!

OCT_2_Website_Album

Finally, release day is here! My new album ‘The Song I’ll Write for My Whole Life’ releases today (Fri Oct 2nd) on all the usual platforms.

I wrote the songs on this album over 10 months in 2019 while on vacation in various remote locations in BC and Ontario.  I was surrounded by and so inspired by natural beauty and immersed myself in my love of the natural world.  The songs capture my love of the natural world and my grief at seeing it threatened.

The songs on the album deal with this sense of grief and loss in multiple ways.  There’s the loss of the natural or the external world and the loss of the spiritual or internal human world.  Our energy and spirits are impacted by the marginalization and destruction of nature.  Everything is connected and we have experienced a loss of connection.  The beauty we experience in the natural world is also reflected in us.

It is my hope that this album will inspire in you moments of connection to the immense beauty of spirit that our world has to offer and a conviction to fight for its survival.

Thank you in advance for your support…your listens, follows, & downloads!

There are so many people to thank who contributed to this project…I had the honour of working with my talented band on this recording – Aaron Trory (bass), Ron Kenji (piano & synths), Scott Fletcher (electric guitar), Tony Lee (drums), and Jeremy Berkman (trombone). The song also features a 10-voice choir (The Sea Change choir) comprised of local singers and musicians from Vancouver’s indie music scene.

A big shout-out to Norah Holtby from Gabba Productions for all your guidance & support!

Thanks to Bob Hanham for being at all of the recording sessions to document our creative adventures.

Thanks to Sheldon Zaharko of Zed Productions for co-producing, engineering and mixing –– you are amazing! ‘Sea in Me’’ was mastered by Andrew Spindor at Railtown Mastering. Thank you to Annie Kennedy and Nick Civero from The Warehouse Studio.

Thank you to my social media and publicity team – Christine Bode of Scully Love Promo and Jen Fritz of Fritz Media.

And, finally thanks to Matt Laforest from Laforest Creative for the fabulous cover art.
