Sarah Greene
Sarah Greene is a songwriter, writer and music journalist from Toronto. Her songs are intimate, concise and idiosyncratically classic. Working in warm, soulful folk-rock ballads, Greene examines loneliness, vulnerability, and the tugging poles of freedom and attachment in her songs. She released two recordings as the frontwoman of mid-2000s Toronto alt-country darlings The Pickups before putting out her debut solo album, Toronto Blues, in 2011. She is currently working on writing and recording songs for a sophomore album, collaborating with a colourful cast of Toronto (and ex-Toronto) musicians, including pianist Michael Holt (The Mommyheads), Paul Kolinski (Heavy On The Willie) and singer/songwriter Abigail Lapell.
